'Skins'

MTV says it's developing an American version of the British teen series <a href="http://tvlistings.zap2it.com/tv/skins/EP01071363">"Skins."</a> One of the show's creators will be involved in the new show, which can be a good sign for shows that are imported from other countries.<br>

If MTV manages to do "Skins" justice, it will be an exception rather than the rule. TV history is littered with a few remake gems (<a href="http://tvlistings.zap2it.com/tv/all-in-the-family/EP00000204">"All in the Family"</a> is the gold standard, and <a href="http://tvlistings.zap2it.com/tv/the-office/EP00726133">"The Office"</a> and <a href="http://tvlistings.zap2it.com/tv/ugly-betty/EP00848723">"Ugly Betty"</a> are two recent successes) but a lot more failures (remember UPN's "As If"? Didn't think so). Take a look at some of the best and worst remakes of foreign shows in recent years.<br>
